Ocean Ground Beds (OGBs) devices designed to establish a power supply circuit between the power feeding equipment at each terminal station. The OGB provides two basic grounding modes, as follows:
Buried grounding mode
The plates or rods of the OGB are buried in the seabed, sometimes near to a beach but always in sites which are permanently saturated with sea-water.
Seabed surface grounding mode
The plates or anodes of the OGB are placed onto the seabed, but not buried in it, on sites that are permanently immersed in sea-water.
